Trip Planning

Getting ready for a few weeks in Florida.
I used to spend more time on this when we took the kids. Stuff like
blowup swim rafts, snorkeling gear, and limited space in the trunk.
Then, since we often ate at rest stops, you had your cooking gear,
coolers, etc, etc.
It was always quite a bit of work, but fun anyway.
Now I don't do much at all.
Even got my wife trained to pack small bags for different purposes.
Convinced her that lugging big suitcases into a motel is silly, and
they are hassle to make good use of trunk space.
More concerned about finishing my garage workbench project.
Got it all framed and just have to do the bench top and lower shelf.
And some painting.
My fishing tackle is easy to just toss somewhere in the car, and since
our wide-brimmed straw hats are unraveling, we'll pick up some new
ones down there.
Tossed out my bridge net a couple weeks ago, as it was getting rotten.
Won't miss it. Forgot to take it the last couple trips, and never
needed it. Think I used it once for a small shark.
Car is ready except for an oil change.
Sort of miss all that planning, which was a fun part of our trips.
But not too much.
Almost back to the days of living out of a seabag.
But not quite. Wives require baggage. No way around it.

I'd enjoy that. Send me your number and your name just in case it's
not Giuseppe.
This e-mail doesn't really get deleted, I just don't check it without
reason.
When I get settled I'll try to give you a call to check your
availability.
Might work out well the day I check out Captain Tony's boats near Ft
Myers Beach and make a reservation.
However that works, it looks like 865 south of Ft Myers Beach is a
scenic road, and might be worth a drive just for that.
Looks like Carl Johnson County Park might be interesting too.
I'm real easily pleased by Florida things. It's a lot different than
Morton Grove, IL.

Same here. I might even be interested in a day of party boat fishing
out of Ft Myers Beach.

Send me your number. We might hook up.
I'm out of touch with the charter captains down there, but the Captain
Tony boats look good, and the price is right.
I'll go down there and watch them take off/come in first.
If you know more, please let me know.

Going through the same kind of thing for a motorcycle trip. Not as
much stuff, but every cubic inch of space becomes important. If I want
to add a book, something else has to go.

Hope you have a great trip. We leave in about an hour.

Estero is not really near Estero Island

Yeah, I know. But when I looked at MS Streets and Trips for the
marina and Estero it was basically "You can't get there from here."
Not quite of course, but hooking around on 865 then back on 41 looked
like an enjoyable drive.
Meets my "Don't drive on back the same road in one day" rule too.

It works, and I'll check it. I won't leave until Friday AM.
First my dad's in Hollywood for a few days, then arriving in Punta
Gorda on the 16th.
I won't have internet access at the condo so I need a number.
