Default Great Trip in Liberal Country

The sign in front of a Vermont hardware store read:

"We Fixed Wall Street in a Weekend,
Why Can't We Fix Health Care?"

I knew I was in Liberal Country!

We had a great trip, some 1800 miles through some beautiful country.
We met at Port Jervis, NY, and rode along the Catskill State Park as
we backroaded our way up to Woodstock, VT, through the Green Mountain
National Forest. Beautiful country!

The next day took us through New Hampshire, where we rode the
Kancamagus Hwy. What a beautiful ride. The White Mountains were a
great backdrop to the ups and downs of this road.

Thanks to whoever recommended the Kancamagus Highway. It was well
worth the detour!

We worked our way over to Booth Bay Harbor and spent the night. We'd
planned to go to Bar Harbor, but one of the Harleys needed a 5000 mile
service. That cost us a few hours.

The next day saw us working our way down the Maine coast, stopping at
Kennebunkport to view the Bush estate. Very nice layout. We got to my
brother Tom's house in Hopkintown, MA, and spent the night.

Yesterday we road the 522 miles from Hopkintown to Alexandria. Rain
the whole way. Absolutely miserable motorcycle weather. But, we made
it. This morning Robert, another brother, took off for Winston Salem,
NC.

Altogether a great ride with no mishaps. Next year will be Kentucky,
some eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina, including the Dragon's
Tail. Can't wait!

Sounds like a great trip. Next time you are in Boothbay Harbor, take
the excursion boat out to Monhegan Island.

We may be up that way again this coming spring. Our friends from
Holland want to head up to Nova Scotia and see Maine on the way.

Now, if you would have driven your BOAT 1800 miles....THAT would be
something to talk about. The above story is off-topic ****.

Gosh, so sorry you were offended. Your last dozen posts appeared to be
very on topic, so you have every right to complain.
