Year to year comparisons show Ford down 5%, GM down 45% and Chrysler down 42%. Must be that Fords are just a much better auto than GM or Chrysler. http://tinyurl.com/yaamseb I do believe Fords are better (at least the truck/SUV lines) but the real fear for a lot of people was buying a car from a bankrupt company. I think they are... I have a truly ancient F-100, I think it's a 1961. V8. Runs great. I haul all kinds of stuff on a weekly basis. I think a small family could live in the engine compartment (along with the engine). I watched a friend actually climb in and mostly close the hood during a short rain sprinkle. He was tuning it up for me. Yes, I have another car for more civilized travel. Nice! Got a picture? Somewhere... I'll see if I can find one. It's pretty beat up, but it works fine. For a 1961 work truck you can't expect a show car (truck). |

I used to sit inside the hood area to work on it, otherwise I couldn't reach most of the engine... You couldn't catch me dead climbing inside an engine compartment with the engine going. I thought he was crazy. What if he got caught on something? Never said it was running, however it prpbably was at times but there is plenty of room there anyway if it were. |
