Is it "Possi" or Posses or just "possums". Fool dogs are going
bonkers over a couple of less than usual possums hiding in the brush pile out back. You'd think they had never seen Possums before. |

OK, that did not come out right. I meant the Possums are more active than the dead ones we usually see on the road. |

These two were scurrying round and round the brush pile driving the dogs nuts. They musta been hungry for cat food cause they normally stay out of the fenced back yard for fear of the dogs. Some nights, I'll go out back to the deck and see if the cats are eating and instead of 3, I'll count 5. Possums look up like saying "We're just funny lookin cats, pay us no mind". Cats are "speciasts" though, they'll eat with possums but not with raccoons. |

Yeah, the possums here look up...and my wife once in a while takes leftovers out to them, along with the foxes, raccoons, groundhogs, birds, et cetera. Every outdoor mammal, btw, seems to like Purina cat chow. We buy some in the winter to help out the forest's edge critters. Also bags of corn for the deer. The possums we saw in Florida were much bigger than the ones around here. She feeds them at the edge of the woods. My pet maine coon cat "Cal" used to hang out with raccoons when he was a bitty kitten, but we captured him and brought him indoors. Our cats only go outside now when they are in a pet carrier and on their way to the vet. http://tinyurl.com/ya93tp3 Cal is on the left. It took him just a couple of minutes to decide inside was better than outside. -- Birther-Deather-Tenther-Teabagger: Idiots All |
