Check your state's licensing agency for raises in your resident
license for the comping year.

They passed a raise, VERY QUIETLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, for CT -
it's now $40/yr - up from twenty which was too high.

Hell California was at least $40 last year. Probably more with stamps for
some species. Mrs. Santa Claus gave me a lifetime license when I turned 62.
May be a well spent couple hundred bucks.

I buy a Maryland "boat license." $50 a year. I can afford it, and Tom
can afford $40.

Next?

No sympathy for the lower classes. Typical LIBERAL. Sound like the guy who
thought $20 just to get into Yosemite was OK. Wanted to keep the lower
class single mom, from the Central Valley out. We all ready paid for the
park with taxes. Add extra cost to the things sold in the park, not the
admission price. But I have never heard of you actually doing something for
the poor. Unless you claimed to be paid to write a proposal.

Seems high for a resident. Seniors need a license?
BTW, I just paid 47 x 2 for non-resident annual Florida sal****er.
$51 each because I ended up using the phone to the FWC.
They gave me codes to write down in case a game warden asked, and sent
the actual licenses to my home in Illinois.
Sal****er licenses are relatively new in Florida.
Was used to getting them in any bait shop in Illinois/Wisconsin, but
it looks like mostly Walmart is where you get them in Florida.
Other thing is Illinois/Wisconsin always had 3-day, 7-day, 14-day,
monthly, priced right for vacationers.
Florida has a 3-day for $17, a 7-day for $30, then jumps to the
annual. I was there a bit over 14 days.
We're on the way to fish the Crystal river, stop in a bait shop for
shrimp and licenses, and got the shrimp and the FWC number only.
Girl said they sell licenses in Homosassa Walmart, so I detour over
there. About 4 miles. But I don't like cell phones much.
The guy in the Walmart sports section says he sells licenses.
Turns on the computer behind his desk, hems and haws a bit,
slaps the side of the monitor, looks at me and says, "This could take
a while."
I got the folks sitting out in the car and it's getting hot, and I'm
ready to fish. I don't mind waiting a few minutes.
"How long? I ask.
He looks chagrined, and says, "About an hour."
WTF?
"Bye" I says and we book out of there fast. Used the cell phone when
we got to the river fishing pier.
Got totally skunked with nary a nibble.
Then I left my camera on the car.
I love fishing!

Nevada was $2.15 when I was a kid. the $ 0.15 went to the seller. Now,
it's up to about $30, plus more if you want a trout stamp, a second pole, or
to fish in the Colorado River System, which allows you to fish the
Arizona/Nevada border. Probably more add-ons I'm not aware of.

Sheesh. This stuff is getting as expensive as some good single malt and a
broad.

My buddy, who lives in Sparks area, says it is $24 for combined fishing and
hunting license.

They didn't bother that, but raised the cost of boat
registrations..... well, if they dramatically increase the number of
access ramps, like they said, I won't kick too hard....

This was strictly a General Fund play - more money for the state Union
workers who, curiously enough, got a COLA raise in their paycheck, but
seniors on Federal SSI won't see a COLA raise for two more years - if
ever again.

All ramp improvements are on hold, any ramp in disrepair will likely
stay that way for the forseeable future, the DEP's fleet is falling
apart at the seams and word has it that the new sal****er license
money is also going to the General Fund while DEP Fish/Game
enforcement is staying level funded at 2006 levels.

And before anybody says it - yes, I would move out of this crap hole
state in a second, but I have to stay here because Mrs. Wave refuses
to retire quite yet. :)
