Maybe because they are so dependent on the GPS they are not looking out
the window and reading the marking on the bridge that says that it is
lower that their trailer is high.

The GPS around here takes you through gated communities if that is the
most direct route on the map, even when they are not really through
streets. At my wife's country club the guard turns a few people a week
back who say the Onstar/TomTom/NAV told them that was the way to go
(even though the back gate needs a key)

They used to route people across a little rickety one lane bridge with
a 5000 lb load limit in that same general area.

Yeah, my Tom Tom keeps trying to send me through the North End of
Hartford instead of the highway... Stupid Tom... Hey, I have said that
before;)

Heh - yeah. Last year some poor trucker followed his GPS from Rt 171
- the route took him at the I-84/Rt 89 cutoff in Ashford up to Rt 20
in Sturbridge. The only problem is the road cuts directly through
Sturbridge Villiage and the only bridge over the French River wasn't
wide enough for the rig to pass. He had to back up three miles to get
back onto Rt 89.

~~ snerk ~~

Another good one - I-91 in the fog. Driver was looking at his GPS when
he drove right off the side of Goodwin Ridge by Sleeping Giant State
Park. :)

I'm the first one to admit I'm directionally challenged.

You, on the other hand, are everything challenged.

Well, not horizontally challenged like "some" folks here... ;)
