Why do you keep making up sound bytes? The study had nothing to do with any politician, it is a scientific study from the University of Florida? You know Loogie, it's ok to get informed and change your mind. When I am wrong here I admit it, like with the Cheney thing. Why can't you?- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Here, maybe YOU need to be informed: From Scientific American: http://www.scientificamerican.com/ar...of-global-warm Nope, probably not good enough because you didn't get it from a talking head like Rush. Oh, but wait, there's MORE http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...icle516033.ece And more http://www.sltrib.com/opinion/ci_13678483 I could go on forever. Were it so, you could fill a glass with ice water and watch the water level rise as the ice melts. Drinks do not overflow when left alone to melt, even if they are brim full and mostly ice. Ice shrinks as it melts. When glacier ice falls into the ocean the level rises, so it cannot cause a further rise as it melt. Casady |

There's a difference between ice shelves and ice sheets. Ice shelves float, and their melting would have a negligible impact on sea levels. However, ice sheets, such as those that cover Greenland and Antarctica, if they were to *totally* melt, would raise sea-levels @80 meters, according to USGS. http://pubs.usgs.gov/fs/fs2-00/ Heh - even better...he's still addicted to the global warming/fierce hurricane scenario - which oddly, is becoming subject to real science nad exposed as the bull**** it is. http://www.coaps.fsu.edu/~maue/tropical/ |

He's talking about floating ice. And we don't have to worry about Antarctica - it's ice sheet is growing. As is part of Greenland's. Sorry - we're not going to be swimming tomorow. |
