Default Crappie lights

I have seen Crappie Candles, and this Daniel Eggerston thing that claims to
catch crappie on a freeway. Do these things work? Has anyone had any
experience with the Daniel Eggerston contraption? He doesn't post any
pictures, only promises that this will attract and catch crappie. Typical
of his sites a

Or do I just need to hang an old Coleman over the side like has been done
for generations?

Get a sealed beam and make a noodle floater for it, or just hang it under
water. Attract fish, and not bugs.

I've got this, because Bass Pro is quite close to me, I tend to have a
lot of their stuff. Seems to attract bait at night, which bring in the
crappie, along with an occasional bass.
