Default D-Rep. William Jefferson will get a new address..

No "toe-tapping" necessary.

Of course he will appeal, however the cancer has been removed.

"I have no doubt you have led an extraordinary life" said the judge.
Bull****, he probably was a crook for some time, it's just that this
time he got *caught.* (I got caught for speeding once, think that was
my first time speeding?)
Now the appeals to follow. Just waiting for the ACLU to step in, you
know the drill: "not enough blacks in the jury" or "unfair sentence,
and only got it because he's black" or "change of venue was unfair"
etc etc etc
btw, next time you get sentenced for a felony, ask the judge to let
you stay free to be with the family during the holidays. Sure.

You very well could be correct in your asumption.

He may find a position for Jefferson to be the Czar over the house
ethics committee.

Yeah, he said initially he was "investigating" fraud and bribery.
Reminds me of the old Mafia joke. "Vito had a little accident, he fell
on a knife............. six times...
