Default Kerosene Heaters Have Arrived

I will keep those who are interested updated on progress.
You know, flame size, soot production, fuel usage, heat production.
Should be the most exciting thing to happen here maybe since Wayne
posted the porpoise vids, or Tom did the kitchen and bath refurbs.
Just kidding (-:
But those were fun.

Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and they have these little plastic bottles
of stuff that makes them burn even cleaner, allegedly. I've got a
place that have a K-1 pump close to me. Two gallons will run the
heater about 20 hours. They burn cleaner than you think they will.

I've been into kerosene heaters for years. Have several, and use kero
lamps for a lot of illumination. Unfortunatly, kerosene is no longer
cheap like it used to be.

When I was a kid, we had a fuel oil stove. *Don't know if that was kerosene
or not. *My dad would always have a 5 gallon can of it. *When we'd get it
filled, it was a dollar something for 5 gallons. *I saw some kerosene at HD,
and it seems to me like it was about $7 a gallon.

Steve

Fuel oil is a lower grade than K-1 kerosene. We had a fuel oil heater
in our garage, There's a carburator on the back to regulate the fuel
flowing into the pot.

Probably 'stove oil'.
We burned it in an old flat downtown where I grew up.
We had the tanker truck come in occassion to fill the 45 gal drum in the
basement. It became my job to track down two flights of stairs to refill the
5 gallon can that sat upside down on a tray stand to to automatically feed
the kitchen stove...which also heated the flat and our water.
To get a few cents extra cents I would drop into a local barber shop and get
his 3 imperial gallon glass jug, walk across the street to a small family
run convience store and fill it. The barber shop used it for a small heater.

Because of your efforts to critique other's grammer, spelling, and
typos:

What in HELL does "To get a few cents extra cents..." mean?
Maybe you need to get some sense, dummy. Your suck buddy Harry better
get his ass back, you're making a complete fool out of yourself in his
absense.

Damn, that jogged a brain cell. Yes, it was labeled Stove Oil on their
tank.
