And you are supposed to have an education? *Was the Dem's who went in to the
south after the civil war, and were the Carpet Baggers. *Was Dem's who
supported slavery before the war. *The Republican Party was founded as an
anti-slavery party. *But you seem to ignore real facts. *You are either a
liar or really ignorant. *And since you claim to have advanced degrees, you
must not be ignorant.

Have you noticed how, after all the miscues the left has made in the
last few weeks, the unhinged left wing rhetoric has picked up over the
last few days? *It's called damage control, and they aren't very good
at it.

The liberals really do hope their voting base buys this crap. *It's
the only thing they have.- Hide quoted text -

Yes, I have, and it's just about as bad as the unhinged right wing
rhetoric.

things have changed since then....the dems signed the voting rights
act. and the GOP opposed it, played the race card, and won the south

Actually the 1964 Civil Rights act was passed because of Republican support.
The biggest hindrance to the passage was Sen. Gore. Yup, Al's racist daddy.

Most southern Democrats opposed the bill. That's a fact. It's also a fact
that southern Democrat Congressmen/women are no longer racists; whereas,
most of the southern Republicans are now anti-minority. So, what you're
saying is that a segment of Congress grew up, and another segment regressed.

Are you planning on blaming Al Gore for the sins of his father?

and no question that southern dems became southern republicans. as LBJ
said when he signed the bill "i think we just handed the south to the
GOP for the next generation'.

and he was right. if the GOP supported the bill, southern racists
didn't see it that way.

no question gore's daddy was racist

no question LBJ kicked ass to get it signed. no question, as the
chairman of the RNC admitted, the GOP used LBJ's signature to destroy
the dems in the south by playing the race card...just like they do
with gays today

same ugly bigotry

Wow, he really posted that? He should do some research before cutting and
pasting like that. He *is* the king of Google after all. BTW, just because
one may have advanced degrees (which I doubt based on his postings), doesn't
preclude one from being ignorant.

And does this indicate where the parties lay as we speak?

Hell no. The Republicans have devolved into a party of big business
that separates the electorate by divisive issues like abortion.
They're experts at getting stupid people to vote against their own
interests in hopes of protecting something that's largely illusory.

The Democrats have learned to chase the money that they so coveted as
it they watched it showered on the Republicans by those who sought
influence.

Now they're Republican and Republican lite.

The health care reform that was just passed is a Republican wet dream.
It's modeled on the health care being a market instead of a service.

We've gone off into the bushes of the right wing. Hopefully, the
pendulum will swing back towards the left and bring some ****ing
sanity to the world.
