So, what you're saying is that a segment of Congress grew up, and another segment regressed. Are you planning on blaming Al Gore for the sins of his father? -- Nom=de=Plume |

Was the Dem's who went in to the south after the civil war, and were the Carpet Baggers. Was Dem's who supported slavery before the war. The Republican Party was founded as an anti-slavery party. But you seem to ignore real facts. You are either a liar or really ignorant. And since you claim to have advanced degrees, you must not be ignorant. And does this indicate where the parties lay as we speak? Hell no. The Republicans have devolved into a party of big business that separates the electorate by divisive issues like abortion. They're experts at getting stupid people to vote against their own interests in hopes of protecting something that's largely illusory. The Democrats have learned to chase the money that they so coveted as it they watched it showered on the Republicans by those who sought influence. Now they're Republican and Republican lite. The health care reform that was just passed is a Republican wet dream. It's modeled on the health care being a market instead of a service. We've gone off into the bushes of the right wing. Hopefully, the pendulum will swing back towards the left and bring some ****ing sanity to the world. |

You can buy papers, Bill. No doubt Jr. had a line item in his personal budget for maintaining grades along with his drug stash and enough beer to keep him happy. He's smart, for sure, at politics. Common sense wouldn't be his strong suit. |

It began in earnest at the 1964 Democratic national convention, when the all-white delegation from Mississippi was not allowed to be seated. Nixon developed what came to be called the "Southern strategy" to take advantage of the former Democratic racists moving to the GOP. You need no further evidence of GOP racism than to look at the faces at the GOP conventions every four years. It's a virtually all-white party. Reality is not something much appreciated by the likes of McKee, Ingerslob, flajim, herring, and the rest of the right-wing assholes who crap here. -- Conservatives - just pretend Obama's health care legislation is another unnecessary war and you'll feel better about it. |
