We've been doing it for years. My objection is to SnotttyScotty's lies and hypocrisy about health care, the federal government's role in same, and how it is paid for...I guarantee you he will sign up for the federal programs as soon as they are available to him...with his pre-existing heart condition and his other reasons, it's the only way he can obtain any sort of "standard" health insurance. I hope he does get it. He reminds me of the semi-literate teabaggers out with their signs and protests, and then we find out they're on federal disability payments. There are many things I am in agreement with Harry. There are many I am not. But it's only a newsgroup and participation is entirely voluntary. I like to think that I can participate and have disagreements without having to make personal attacks punctuated with profanity for effect. Not always successful, but I try. rec.boats took a decided turn for the worst just prior to the elections of 2000 and it hasn't recovered since. Before then, most posts were somewhat boating related and were often sprinkled with humor .... sometimes downright hilarious. Personality conflicts existed but they were nowhere near as mean spirited as today. Hate to break it to you, but my participation and with whom I converse is not yours to decide. You are a big boy and can deal with your own battles, should you choose to fight. I'd add that you often contribute little snippets that only fuel the fire. Eisboch |
