So lasrt evening I was dinking around with it, and she had jsut
returned from her evening walk, and I flashed the 'landing' lights at her, and here she came. She said, "I want to get up on it." OK, so I dug out a step stool and she clomed aboard,a nd walked around on the platform and she thought it was pretty nice. I pointed to the captains chair and said 'sit down here and see what you think' she did, and thought it was really cool, so I walked up to the front of the tubes and said, now you can really see how long it was. "Man,this is HUGE!" she said with excitement, and look, under th seats theres all kinds of storage for stuff... This is going to be fun!" I felt good because this is the first craft I've bought that she seems happy about. Oh she was kind of exited when I bought the little Chris Craft, but it was too bumpy of a ride for her in a decent chop, and when I drug home the bigger 23' ft, she was taking cancer treatments and didnt' feel like going out of the house, let alone going on any boat. But she's excited about this pontoon and wants to drive it. Sounds good to me, so if all goes well as far as the weather for this weekend it's gonna hit a local lake for a "Sea trial" and see what she really thinks of it then..... .. |

It's pouring rain here today. So much for "sea trials" Besides she's already taken off north to visit the daughter at college. |

Pontoon boats are great for taking out large numbers of friends and family so she'll probably like that aspect of it also. We'll be heading back over towards St Croix in the next couple of weeks so if you'd like me to do some more "alternator testing", we have an opportunity coming up. :-) I've changed some of my procedures a little to make sure that I don't get both sets of golf cart batteries charging at the same time. Best way to get in touch is at my winlink EMAIL address. |

It's hard to do right now because of the ever threat of rain and I'm tied up with the farming season repairs even on Saturday. You gotta get it while you can. This is changing my whole course of action seeing I was wanting to outfit the 23' Marquis, because I think she wants to take the barge on the river cruise because of it's spaciousness and stability, not counting and easier ride. So she couldn't stand it any longer and went shopping for an air matress. I find that hard to imagine because it looks like she wants to camp on the float instead of finding a place to park the thing and get a motel. So, she's already purchased an air matress, and I have ideas on making a better canopy top instead of the bimini. Something with side curtains that can be rolled down (Think PBR, John!) with netting in windows. Then comes the loads of batteries which the Johnsos 10a. Stator won't handle to charge effectively, so I have some ideas on making a small DC generator, or I might go AC and use an inverter for a charger. Too much other stuff to think about for the moment. This is going to be interesting though. And oh yes, Wayne. We'll get together on some ideas when you make it to St. Croix. |
