Is it just me or is soliciting donations getting way the hell out of hand?
Last time I was at Walmart, the checker asked for a donation to some international childrens thing and when I turned her down, she asked to round up my bill. For the same cause. Got hit up twice in the friggin parking lot, once was some cheerleader squad and the other a guy selling crappy overpriced t-shirts and claiming the proceeds go to charity. Next day, kids show up with the magazine subscription/ finance our trip to wherever and later make a donation and get a "gift" of stale peanut brittle. I already have a few charities that suck the life from my wallet: electric company water company insurance company mortgage company Not to mention a teenage daughter and a wife that seem to get 90% off the top. .. |

Hell, even Safeway puts a request on their damn credit card machine. I've complained to the manager, but it's not done any good. -- John H All decisions are the result of binary thinking. |

That's funny because I noticed this also... everyone wants a dollar for this or that... even at the checkstand in the local market. Well, perhaps it's because times are tough, but I sure don't like the pressure tactics. |

These are the corrupt ones that need bankruptcy to clean out the paracitical garbage. I am a investor and capitalist, and I am dead against the corruption of taxing people and corporations for dysfunctional welfare corporations. The cost to all is too high in the end.
