Installed! Whew!

Still have to paint trim, install screen doors.

Took just a tiny shim on one side to level left to right. Concrete floor
was perfectly flat. Built-in locks lined up perfectly, as did the deadbolt.

looks great.
Now, if any wacko doper shows up at your door, you'll have plenty of time to
plan their speedy withdrawal.

Pssst, spoofer, I took mechanical engineering courses, there is no such
thing as "perfectly flat". Especially a concrete floor.

Interesting... looks like they could have been wider? Or was there some
structural issue?

The 60" opening could have been made wider when the house was built. I
could have hired a good carpenter to make it wider during this latest
project, but the expense would have been substantial. Such a project is
way beyond my rudimentary carpentry skills.

The sliders were a problem, since the widest opening they would allow
was less than 30". But now, with these double opening doors, I can pull
both open at the same time.

Guess who sits on that little footstool... meow!

You'd have thought I would have bought something decent instead of those
cheap doors with the plastic window frames, huh?

When I built a new cape Cod style house back in 1975/76 I installed 5' wide
sliding doors.
It was plenty wide to pass through.... but some of the fat assed dopers
might struggle a bit.

Nothing is cheap now-a-days, my stinky little spoofer.
I went over last week to order 6 more replacement vinyl windows. They quoted
me $2100.00 so
I settled for 4 at $1400.00. I'll get the last two for the 1st floor at the
winter booking special price.
