If your transport aircraft keep falling out of the sky, just keep them closer to the earth, over water and put a boat hull on the bottom. |

Y'know. that more I studied that thing, it was really quite a machine. Could travel at 300+ mph hovering over the water, below radar. Could carry 140+ troops and a variation of munitions, stable, and very fuel efficient. Wow! |

But the thinking was it would carry large loads at a really fast speed and travel below most radar. So they were ashore with troops and equipment before they could normally be expected to arrive and attack. |

Y'know. you look at 'most' of the ordanance and military equipment the Rooskies bu,ilt well...they were ugly and crude, but usually v-e-r-r-r- r-y efficient! Some military equipment designed during the time of and in the Soviet empire (and that includes all those countries the Sovs took over) was quite elegant, if simple, in design. Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod (CZ), the Czech small arms conglomerate built and still builds some physically attractive and very efficient weapons. I have a CZ pistol and it is the equal in every way of the high-end Sig target pistol I used to own. It isn't stainless steel, like the Sig, but it is beautifully finished *and* out of the box, it fires faster and is slightly more accurate. I've been thinking of getting a .45 ACP pistol; there are many brands, including American brands, from which to choose. CZ makes a very nice one, and it is on my list to consider. I've seen and handled other Czech small arms. Many of them are very impressive. The former Sov states, even when they were Sov states, were innovative in design and manufacture of pistols, rifles, shotguns, et cetera. |
