If you had Vessel Assist towing insurance, you've now got BOAT US. Since
yesterday.

Boat US used the money it got from selling its retail stores to West Marine to
buy
Vessel Assist.

The Boat US guy who towed me to Anacortes was griping that Boat US is canning
all of their existing contractors on the W coast, and retaining the
(previously) Vessel Assist operators. He mentioned that he has some time left
on his contract with Boat US, and expects they will offer him a cash
settlement.

Looks like it won't be any cheaper to get towed in the future, a lack of
competition
has a way of raising rates.
