I am watching a series and they are talking about "clicks" in reference
to distance. What is a click? TIA RMR...

It could be clicks... as in markings on a graduated sighting device or
it could be klicks.... as in: a klick is 1000 meters or one
kilometer...

It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are
enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.

Reply:
Rarely did you hear about a "click" when I was serving. But we were
military lite and rarely handled a small arms. About once a year for
qualification. Rest of the time we techs sat in air conditioned shops
fixing radios and radars. Sometimes on the flight line to remove same from
a bird.

Or it could be the sound the nuns made on their little 'clickers' to let the
kids know when to stand, sit or kneel.
