Default Rec Boats Readers Guide for Newcomers

These are broad rules for newcomers.
Boaters accept them as an efficient tool for guiding the readers of
rec.boats who are actually boaters, or those who have have an interest
in boats.
Non-boaters and those with no real interest in boats should follow rule
III only.

I. GENERAL RULE FOR BEST READING - high quality (exceptions occur)

Delete without opening any posts not from:

gfretwell
mmc
Tim
Wayne (too many exceptions lately)

(others who would be on this list have departed rec.boats.)

II. GENERAL RULE FOR 100% BOATING RELATED POSTS

Delete without opening any posts not from:

THIS PAGE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK

III. GENERAL RULE FOR "SLUM DWELLER" READING - low quality

Delete without opening any posts not from:

hkrause

(Explanation: All trash with sufficient mass enters the hkrause orbit.
He is the "universal" trash collector.
Little trash is attracted by big trash. They can't help it.
Such is the way of the universe.
Einstein would show you the formula and say "Hey, get used to it."
Simply read the bottom where hkrause responds.
There you will generally find trash talking to trash.
You'll get right to the best part of it, and condensed.
There was a reason for the successful run of Reader's Digest.
Some "trash" hkrause won't respond to.
And there are others talking trash to each other.
You won't miss anything. It is lightweight faux trash.)

Fretwell and Tim are fun posters.
I don't have strong opinions one way or the other about you.
Wayne is a horse's ass.

Boating All Out is yet another anonymous jerk who changes his ID
frequently to try to bypass filters. He's not too good at it.

Cheers.

Likewise Harry. I would rather treat this place as a discussion group rather
than a make out spot or a place to fight.
I agree with some things you say and disagree with other things, and I
understand we should each think for ourselves. I guess I'm mature enough to
realize that not everyone has to agree with me or share my opinions to be
worthy of being treated decently.
If this guy is who I think he is, I believe the reason for the constantly
changing ID is he's trying to get some attention from the many that have him
KF'd.

That would make him 'Harry'. Of course, this wouldn't be the first time Harry
has stooped to such levels.

As Android phones become more powerful and more useful, they also store more of your important personal data. Losing that data can be more than a minor inconvenience, and given the fragility of electronic devices, it's something that's likely to happen at some point. MyBackup Pro is an app that will give you peace of mind if your phone gets destroyed in a mishap such as an impromptu dip in the toilet or a shattering drop to the pavement. You can schedule automatic backups and restore your apps, data, and settings to a new phone (or to the same phone if the data was accidentally erased) in just minutes. Considering how much time it would take to manually enter such data, this app is a worthwhile purchase at the current price of $5.

Upgrading to the paid Avira AntiVir Premium Security Suite adds a passel of extra features--anti-spam, an included firewall, and parental controls, to name just a few--but the core malware detection and removal system is the same.

The variety of choices PhotoCopier provides and the results it produces are very impressive. Whether you want to use one click to add a classic movie preset to an image or use a famous painting as a starting point for custom editing, the app makes it easy. Like most photo-editing apps, you'll really appreciate seeing your image on the iPad's larger screen as you edit, but the app works essentially the same on all iOS devices. There is room for improvement while finding a preset to use, but once you get past that, you'll have fun replicating the tones of so many famous works of art with your own photos.
