Probably a little limber-ish :-) Wait until Wilbur finds out that Jessica B was really Harry Krause from rec-dot-boats. Maybe two split personalities = one and Wilbur and HK are the proud parents of Jessica. I've heard of Harry Krause. I think rec.boats is his abode. Everybody over there seems to hate that opinionated, big-mouth, know-it-all blowhard. Thank God the Rube knows enough to not besmirch rbc with his inadequacies lest he suffer continual smackdowns from the more erudite here. rb added |

Do they sound smart or worldly? Have you looked at rec.boats.cruising lately? If anything, it is in worse shape than rec.boats. The one guy who actually is living the cruising life gets nothing but crap from most of the posters over there, and Wilbur gets called a "rapist" about 20 times a day. |

Do they sound smart or worldly? I am perhaps the 'most' erudite of them all. The subset of "more erudite" individuals may be gleaned by their consistent ability to type a coherent paragraph or two while they spell, punctuate and employ grammar in likewise manner to make their point in concise fashion. When individuals post to Usenet it is imperative that they do so in as professional and competent manner as possible. Any illiterate, lazy, slipshod and inept English language usage is a barometer that measures the worth of the composer. The worse the English of the message, the more dubious the merit of the messenger. If one lacks pride or skill enough to properly employ the tool of language in a forum where it's the only tool then why bother giving the messenger due consideration? Wilbur Hubbard |

Wilbur Hubbard Wilbur, as I'm sure you know, sometimes a very simple, well-constructed thought can be completely void of sophisticated words or language and still be deep in meaning. Professional and competent? Clearly, you're a sucker for form over function. Whatever. |
