Auto-food delivery system for alligators
Local enviro-fools used $ 3.5 million of "stimulus" to build a "turtle
tunnel" under US HWY 27 so turtles could cross under and not get squished by cars. A simple culvert would not suffice so they built a huge thing with long walls to direct the silly turtles. With this amount of money, they could have paid a limo to stand by and given each turtle a ride to the other side and a good meal. THE RESULT: Now, alligators wait on the far side for turtles to come thru and then CHOMP. |

You got off cheap at 3.5. We just opened our own "Bridge to Nowhere" on SR 406 in Titusville. $45M so that people visiting Canaveral National Seashore can breeze on and not have to wait for the (very) occasional boater to come thru the old swing bridge. 2 moderate sized marinas lie to the North of the new, 65 foot bridge. Some might say it's to serve Kennedy Space Center but with the dwindling numbers that would be a little hard to swallow. Of course the park rangers also use that road going to and fro work but I don't think they have that kind of influence. |
