I didn't see that in Iraq.... except by the Kurds. The Libyans people seem to need help and the world community *including* The Arab League is on board. I don't see ANY similarities between that and the Iraq debacle.... we're certainly not looking for imaginary weapons of mass destruction. Are we? This is far too complex for the simpletons on the right to figure out on their own. Attacking a country on juiced up intelligence vs. taking out military installations of a dictator actively killing his own countrymen in open warfare. They don't get the difference. What was Saddam's body count vs Muammar's? |

If it were about justice, how come for 3 decades the power that be did nothing? I don't like him, he should have had his neck stretched years ago, but why now? Our corrupt leaders say so? What is the real motive for this? Come now, pretty obvious some alliance exists with US-UN-France where in about 1/2 dozen countries the UN backed man is trying to replace the local dictators or even democratically elected. Remeber the people of Libya wanted Gaddafi and still do, BBC news showed protesters in Gaddafi's support. Because US-UN-France is fighting for a minority of gun toting rebel criminals. If an armed minority marched on DC, and another country came in to support them -- that is what the US is doing! Basically US-UN-France is the drivin force with Europe and Arab rich calling the shots. The new world order at work. Thank you for the insights into your brain. It's a scary place, what with your endless conspiracy theories. I don't like Muammer el-Qaddafi either, but...as bad as he is, he is a piker when you add up his murders and compare that number to the hundreds of thousands of innocents our troops killed in Southeast Asia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Iceland might be to your liking. I was thinking Costa Rica. They got rid of the national army on the last copue d'etat attempt. They don't miss the army either. We war mongers in the west spend far too much on WAR, and little on much else. Peaceful place too Costa Rica is. War mongers get dismissed pretty quick. Three of my retired union buddies have moved to Costa Rica, and another is thinking about it. They have national health care that even "furriners" can buy into at a reasonable price. Imported manufactured goods are very, very expensive, because of import taxes. There have been some problems with kidnapping of Americans, and its neighbors to the north and south wander across the border from time to time to start trouble. But, mostly, it is a peaceful place with many assets to attract U.S. citizens. Pretty country, too, with mountains and seashores and excellent fishing. Almost every Costa Rican I encountered on my trip there spoke pretty good English. And for the bachelors, the chica ticas are...well, fabulous. All of the chicas are "fabulous". That's a racist statement. |

@mypacks.net says... There are many differences, including these: No one in the Obama administration is lying about why we might get involved in a limited way in Libya. The Bush administration lied us into Iraq. Nobody in the administration has laid out our national interests in Libya. I haven't seen any statements that would commit U.S. ground troops to Libya. The fact that you haven't seen the statements doesn't mean that they don't exist. What may take place in Libya is an incursion to remove the dictator there. How many *years* has Bush's war in Iraq been going on? The war in Iraq is over we have no combat troops in Iraq. You are an idiot, Herring. With your help, we lost in Southeast Asia. The Democrats ensured our loss in SEA. Johnson's Tuesday pick a target lunches. McNamara running the war as an accounting exercise. Tet '68 could have been a turning point. The VC and NVA got their asses handed to them and if we had loosed the dogs of war we could have taken the war to Hanoi. |

Are you expecting that a glimmer of enlightenment might strike Herring, Ingersoll, Frogwatch, Canuck, et al? Why? None. No. NA. |

That's a racist statement. Harry Krause is the resident Pedophile Racist, child abuser, women stalker, etc in the group.. He is a sick man... D'oh. You two are outdoing yourselves in utter stupidity. Do you even know what a chica tica is? Chica tica is the colloquial phrase for an attractive woman of Costa Rican descent. It is not a pejorative. Tico is the word that references Costa Rican males. Had you two assholes been anywhere in Latin America, you might have a wider view of the world. It probably won't matter to Chuckles, since they probably won't let him in there either. Costa Ricans are not stupid. |
