Wow... where I come from, and where most people come from, they only have one home, and if they're lucky they can make the mortgage payments. Anyone living from paycheck to paycheck is not truly middle class. Middle class is not just about money. It's more about values, managing what you have, and saving/investing for the future. Most people, the vast majority of people who live paycheck to paycheck are absolutely middle class no matter what "your" definition might be. Your "values" seem to be you've got yours, so screw everyone else. Most people who consider themselves middle class manage what they have and try an invest in the future. These days many of them don't succeed and are being throw under the bus by the right wing. More socialist BS from my favorite parrot. Please define middle class for us. Hint: Aspiring to middle class does not count. How about you get off your high horse. It doesn't become you. How about those falling out of their homes? How about those people who now have to choose between paying their bills, buying their meds, or feeding their children. You don't really care do you. Anyone with a net worth of zero or some negative number might be the salt of the earth but they are clearly not middle class unless you want to call your Mexican landscaper middle class. Which has nothing to do with the subject of Wayne supposing he isn't well beyond the typical middle class person. He might not be rich by a billionaire's view, but he certainly isn't scraping to keep his house and his fine yacht. In reality he probably does have a positive net worth on his $12 an hour salary. Anglos should learn something from our latino residents. Maybe that is the problem. We have decided people's wealth is measured by their credit line and not what they actually own. You brag about how much money you make, are you saying you can't afford 2 refrigerators? Weren't you talking about buying a quarter of a million dollar boat a while ago? Maybe you just hate people who aren't as smart as you? I don't think I've ever heard anyone brag about their modest home. Please show me where I ever said I considered myself "middle class" regarding income. I've never "bragged" about anything. That's just lying on your part. Actually, the boat we're now contemplating is a bit more than that, but it's clear that your only purpose is to win some imaginary point rather than have a discussion about actual facts. |

It's not about caring, it's about your definition of middle class, and as a secondary issue, what is the proper role of government, especially the federal government. It is very easy to be empathetic with someone else's money. The end of socialism is when there is no one left to pick up the tab. That day may be closer than you think. Actually, it is about caring. The proper role of gov't is all about caring or not caring about its citizens. You keep touting this "socialism" thing, when in reality we mostly live in a socialistic society. Too bad you don't like it. Move to Liberia. |

Actually not unless you consider safety, law and order to be "caring". I don't. How very right-wing asshole-ish of you, w'hine. BTW. the Middle Class Club is revoking your imaginary membership. You're too much of a pimp for corporatism, and corporatism is the enemy of the middle class. |

If that's middle class, I'm sure a lot of people would love to sign up. The trawler is our second home. Having a second home is something of a middle class tradition where I come from. Perpetual vacation? That's called retirement by most people. I'm not really retired however. My new occupations are investment management and boat maintenance work. :-) A second home... one of which is a gas hog. Wow... where I come from, and where most people come from, they only have one home, and if they're lucky they can make the mortgage payments. For most people, retirement means living simply and cutting back on most of the extras. Sounds to me like you're delusional if you think what you have is middle class. Sounds like you need to set your sights a little higher, bud. |

No corp is interested in that. We know you don't care. |
