Default Prop shaft Part#44-824110

Can anyone confirm for me that Merc. has a tenancy of using the same prop
shaft on 90% of their outdrives? If this is the case is it the same shaft
as their Outboard propshafts? Last question... Anyone got one ya wanna get
rid of (or lower unit for that matter that has been destroyed)

Thanks,
Mike

According to my partlist, 44-824110 will fit 200HP and up outboards from 95
and up and Alpha one Gen II 96-97. The 1998 model has a new number, but I
can't tell if it is a real difference between them.
