Hi,
I'm new to kayaking. I love the Lincoln Chebeauge 14.6' /24" beam and have a new one on order. I like it's neutral paddling character in all wind directions and currents and relative stability. Also the lightness is a joy to car top and carry. While most of my paddling will be done in less than class 2 rivers and lakes I eventually want to paddle coastal waters of MA and RI. I won't be doing this until my skills have improved considerably. My question is this : Is the Lincoln appropriate for the sea without rudder or skeg? I could have a skeg added at a weight increase of some 2 lbs. Gene Cosloy |
