I don't get Dagger's decision to get out of the canoe market. Sure it
isn't as financially rewarding as the flavor of the season kayak market but this seems a total repudiation of their roots. I've felt they made the best designs. It's heartining to see Bell and Esquif jump into the market but IMHO I don't think their models are at the same level. Is the Ocoee gonna reappear under someone elses nameplate or do I need to baby the one I was fortunate to pick up last year. obdave in montana |

Bell is picking up the Ocoee, along with Dagger's warranty responsibilities. Since Bob Foote has been designing for Bell I'd expect their new boats to be a good as Dagger's have historically been. I imagine dropping the canoe line was Watermark's decision, not Dagger's. Watermark's roots are in making $$, and I confidently predict they will never repudiate them. -- Steve Cramer Athens, GA |
