NYC Policemen and Firefighters are not invited to the 10th anniversary of 9/11 at Ground Zero.....Because there's not room... They weren't invited on that day in 2001 either. THEY JUST SHOWED UP AND DID THEIR JOB ! Mayor Bloomberg wants to allow a Mosque at Ground Zero, but won't let Clergy or Prayer at the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Hey Bloomberg, you are a real piece of crap.... go to hell! The Muslim community center is neither a mosque nor at ground zero. |

While it does seem that it will be a Muslim Community Center, what does it matter if it is a mosque. This group is considered a moderate Muslim community. As a society We need to encourage improved relationships with Moderate Muslims. Their are approximately 7 billion Muslim in the world. The vast majority, especially in the US, want nothing to do with violence or terrorism. They want to take care of their family, enjoy life, practice their religion and live in peace. The more we encourage improved relationship with Muslims, Muslim Communities and Muslim Countries the safer and more secure the US will be. The anti Muslim sentiment around the world reminds me of the anti Catholic and anti Jew sentiment that was and in certain parts of the world still very common. If the Jews held all Christian responsible for the actions of some Christians (at times the majority of Christians) we would have to worry about both Jewish and Muslim terrorist. As Rodney King said "Can't we all just get along". |

Our founding fathers were very amendment that they believed America should be a land where all religions are welcomed, and we should have freedom of religion and even freedom not to have any religion. He is allowing Politicians to the ceremony, not Firefighters, Clergy and Police. It is my opinion he makes these judgements and decisions with nothing but politics in mind. It seems to be a pattern with bloomberg, and has nothing to do in my mind with what you are assuming a problem you think I have with "the Muslim community".. I guarantee my personal feelings on the Community Center are not what you think... |

When I read that you were making some distinction between Mosque and Community Center it seemed that you were. It seems that Bloomberg (a Jew) is not allowing Christians, Muslims, Hindu or Druids to say prayers at the Memorial, Service but he will allow any and all of them to build places of worship in the same area of lower Manhattan. So it does seem that he is treating everyone equally. Now even if Bloomberg didn't want the community center close to ground zero, our Constitution would not allow him to say a specific religious group can not open a religious center within X number of yards/miles of ground zero. |

Where you are wrong in your thinking is you are acting like Bloomberg IS allowing Muslims to speak at the ceremony, which is false. IF it were a "pattern" he'd allow some religions (Muslims) and not others (Christians}. The Muslim Community Center has absolutely NOTHING to do with the ceremony for 9/11. My problem is with Bloomberg not allowing three of the most important organizations (Firefighters, Clergy, and Police) to participate in the services, he is turning it into a political statement and stealing it from New Yorkers. He can't put his own ideology aside, that is my issue. Please, I don't think I could make it any clearer... so just call me a racist and get it over with snerk |

I am praising the Jews and Native Americans for not holding all Christians responsible for actions of the past. I am not holding any group, including Christians, Muslims, Jews, Africans, Asians and Europeans up to any higher or lower standard than any other group. Since you agree with this and don't believe anyone should be biased against another group, why are you freaking out? My position really is a moderate position. I am not suggestion will give any minority any more rights that the majority. |
