Yes you can. Someplace warm comes to mind.

Yes, and someplace easier to get to.

I'm going to start a new thread on favorite islands. *Please don't
trash it *- *islands really don't care about religion, politics or

"Easier to get to"??
Every year almost a quarter million 'mericans find their way up here
on cruise ships.
There are direct flights into Halifax from New York daily. What could
be easier than that?

I'm sure that's all true but I have this notion that the proper way to
get to an island is on a boat, preferably your own boat. I have
visited a number of different islands on cruise ships and have always
found the experience somewhat dissatisfying, even when I liked the
place. The problem is partly scheduling. Typically the cruise ship
arrives early morning and departs before sunset. There is no
opportunity to enjoy a dinner a shore or appreciate the night life.
You are also limited in choice of excursions and have to ensure that
you are back at the dock before departure.

Yep, agreed. Airfare to Nova Scotia isn't cheap, HST is a tax gouge,
booze is insane priced, cold as hell this time of year.

Costa Rica is cheaper, warmer and more things to do.

So in the hole, why do we insanely want more debt?

"Cold as hell this time of year"??
When was the last time you were here? 70F today.

What will it be at midnight, say 40F?

Weather is too unpredictable up there in the tundra. 70 today could be
30 tomorrow.- Hide quoted text -

No country for girliemen... that's for sure!

Or Girly girls. The only people who have swim trunks or bikinis in NS
also fly to the Caribbean or central America.

Brrrr!
My wife would be wearing a parka.

That is a humid climate, bone chill is worse in humidity.

I looked at the weather channel. It was in the low 60's today when he
posted it was 70... Carry on...

Would need a coat, humidity would likely also be above 80%.

Man.. you'd better travel a bit more in your own country... whichever
one it is.
The other day the weather service was claiming that the west coast of
Cape Breton had the highest temperature in all of Canada for that day.
On the north shore of Nova Scotia they claim that the water is the
warmest north of the Carolinas. (Northumberland Strait rather than
open Atlantic Ocean)

We really wanted to take that fast cat up there from New Hampshire
when we were doing our New England trip. The weather was just too
nasty for it. Maybe another time.- Hide quoted text -

You mean.. Bar Harbour, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia?? Too late...
the ferry service wanted a big multi-million dollar subsidy but the
gov't said enough is enough.
