Getting up in front of a group of conservative Christians, as Jeffress did, and casting aspersions on a candidate for the GOP presidential nomination because he is a "Mormon," and therefore part of a cult, is not very Christian. I know lots of Christians who follow the teachings of Jesus who will respond to any sort of sincere question about religion or its practitioners. One of my college apartment mates for two semesters was an Episcopal priest working on a master's degree. We argued for hours about religion. One of my clients is a stalwart Roman Catholic, a leading Catholic intellectual as a matter of fact. well-known, who will discuss any aspect of religion in any depth you want.
