I blame him too but Walmart started this escapade long before Clinton
got into office. He just fueled the transition to globalism. I think
Clinton was the best friend the Republicans ever had and they still
went after him for a blow job.

Shows how ****ed up the Republican party is. They don't know a good
thing if it's sitting right in front of them. All they want is more.

I agree with your last thought here. Politics has become so polarized
that these guys don't look at policy, they only look at party.
Clinton was he best big business president since Hoover. The word
"downsize" was coined during his administration and companies like IBM
laid off people for the first time in their history during the 90s. It
was all in the name of reporting profits by selling off capital.

It is pretty funny watching the GOP trying to put a bad spin on Obama
following the Bush timetable in Iraq. I guess they assumed Bush would
never actually pull out the troops.

Obama went into Libya too fast or too slow, with too much force and
not enough, in a leadership postion or secondary to allies, resolved
it too quickly or too slowly, lost not a since American life but is
responsible for hundreds of Libyans killed.

It's astounding to watch the R's twist the message.

They heap praise on our allies but give Obama no credit.

They show themselves as the craven bull**** artists they are.

Clinton was all about selling to the Chinese. That's how they got the
technology to shoot down that satellite? It was our technology and they
wanted to rub it in our face that they had it after Alemeda incident

Think of how much money Wal Mart has added to the U.S. Jobs, money,

the money goes to China!

And because the goods are less expensive, more people can afford to have
them.

Walmart's profits came at the expense of the small mom and pop stores
they displace so, at best it was a zero sum game. The reality is it
was worse. Those "savings" come at the cost of other American
businesses.

Couldn't compete, evolve or die. Walmart started that way but evolved.

Result is 100's of millions live better having more stuff they want for
less money.

McDonald's did the same to burger joints. Kentucky fried did it to
chicken joints. So did Exxon and other big companies. Even Miller and
Budweiser. Don't see local businesses making beer like they used too.

So your point?

Citing rising costs, Wal-Mart, the nation?s largest private employer,
told its employees this week that all future part-time employees who
work less than 24 hours a week on average will no longer qualify for

In addition, any new employees who average 24 hours to 33 hours a week
will no longer be able to include a spouse as part of their health
care plan, although children can still be covered.

This is a big shift from just a few years ago when Wal-Mart expanded
coverage for employees and their families after facing criticism
because so many of its 1.4 million workers could not afford or did not
qualify for coverage ? rendering many of them eligible for Medicaid.

Sweet. Send your employees to emergency rooms and medicaid so the
taxpayers can cover it. Excellent strategy to bolster net profits for
the company that imports more Communist Chinese goods to America than
any other.

Hey all you wingers, make sure to patronize Walmart cuz they believe
in Jesus.

I thought Obama care was going to fix all if this. Don't they have to
provide coverage now? 2014?

I don't know.

I do know Obama care was going to raise costs and this is the excuse
Walmart cites.

Have you checked out the 'Made in China' items at Home Depot lately? Your 'German' screwdrivers
probably came from China originally - then repackaged in German containers.

Amazing how you righties seem to "get off" on the proliferation of
communist-made goods in our stores. One might think you prefer it to
U.S.-made goods produced by American workers earning a decent wage.

IF the US made goods could compete price-wise, people would buy them.
They can't. It's getting better, but they still are more expensive. The
average US worker is being coddled so much that it just costs too much
to manufacture here. Add to that that the heads of the companies need to
rake in millions upon millions of dollars you end up with a ****ty
economy where people can't afford those goods. That is the gist of what
the wall street occupiers are rightfully protesting about.

We will never be able to compete on price with slave labor.

BTW I always hear about wage disparity but it is nothing here compared
to China. One of those writers who spent a lot of tome in China was on
Charley Rose the other night and described China a few miles out of
the big city as a "Ming Dynasty" lifestyle.

Under socialism, which the liberals are praying for, the rulers will live the same way. The poor
class will be much larger, but they don't know that.

It's all about the unions.. If the fat cats can't sit back, do nothing
but stand between the management and labor to keep them fighting, and
suck their own living off the backs of the laborers, they are not happy...
