Does character matter?
Conservative columnist George Will believes that Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain’s sexual harassment scandal is a “test” for Republicans. “A rule is when there are four women, there may be 24,” Will told ABC’s Christiane Amanpour Sunday. “There’s a pattern here. He’s says there’s no pattern because all four are not telling the truth. Well, we shall see.” “For Republicans, it is a teachable moment because Republicans have said over and over again, character matters in leadership. We have this powerful government. The more power the government has, the more character matters in the chief executive. And this is a test for them.” Nah, character is just another ruse put up by the GOP to stake out the moral high ground. It only comes into play when battling the opposition, rarely when measuring their own. What matters for the Cain campaign is the simplicity of the message and can if fit on a bumper sticker. His fundraising has taken a leap since women started to come forward confirming his pattern of abuse. A certain percentage of Republicans (including women?) are obviously comfortable with misogynists. |

Yes, but most real men realize there is sexual harassment and there are women who make false accusations on their harassment of men. Plenty of democrat misogynists. And the only confirmed extra-marital sexual blow job in the Whitehouse is a democrat. Would like to know the truth with Cain. Not just the fleabaggerisms and political back biting. -- The reason government can't fix the economic problems is government is the problem. |

The truth is he is a womanizing, ill-prepared joke of a candidate with great appeal to the mindless Republican right. You know, your kind of candidate. Possibly. But flattering a woman and asking her for a date can be by some man hating women be harassment. To be sexual harassment it has to have some intimidation, threat or reward for sex. Without intimidation, threat or reward for sex, it isn't likely harassment. But say you want to fire a woman for tardiness, bad work or lack of work, then she remembers your compliment 3 weeks earlier and sees her lawyer or a settlement of some fat sum. Company settles as it is less than the legal to fight it. But then that is why our society is screwed. It isn't about integrity, truth and honor. If Cain was innocent, it should have been fought no mater what the cost. And women making false claims should get he same besmirching treatment. But if harassment, Cain should have been fixed back then. But money talks, and same reason elections are rigged. Best candidates money can buy make it to the ballot. -- The reason government can't fix the economic problems is government is the problem. |

Uh, Cain was a married man during the four or five reported sexual harassment incidents, and in the cases described to date, he wasn't asking for a "date." He was pressuring for sexual contact.
