Last night I found an empty Orbit box on the floor. I had just opened it earlier and left it on the
table. The new pup had jumped on a chair and gotten the package. She then ate about twelve pieces,
paper and all.

This morning I picked her up from the emergency room where she'd been 'flushed'. That was a $550
lesson.

Live and learn. I, of course, realize that most here are way too bright to ever do such a thing.

Flagged as the spam **** it is....

Do you even know what "spam" is as it applies to the Internet?

"unsolicited bulk messages" A single message is hardly bulk. But you
knew that, didn't you?

You could also raise your dog as I do, no human food, ever. My dogs can
lay on the floor next to a turkey sandwich and never even realize it's
something to eat, much less touch it. Just sayin'. When you train a
puppy, remember anything you train him to do (like eat people food), he
will do when he get's older....

My Daughter taught our dog well. Every time he wants a treat he hovers
over the food bos and looks at us. He sits when we give it to him. He
drops it until we walk away before picking it up and eating it. If he is
hungry he points or other wise indicates the direction of the food box
and pops his mouth a little bit.
His idea of play is getting us to chase his toys. Tell him to go get
them and he plays dumb. When we brought our Daughter's cats to care for
a while, he went searching and found one of his toys and dropped in
front of the Cats. It was fascinating seeing him try to get them to
play.

We have a cat that's about thirteen now. Watching the new pup, at two months, trying to get the cat
to play *was* hilarious! The cat would get on the ottoman, it's favorite place next to my lap, and
the dog would try to get up there with it. The cat, declawed in the front, would just bat the hell
out of the dog's face. Had the dog afraid of it for a couple months. Now they both realize it's a
game and have a great time - until the cat gets tired. He has a way of calling it off.

Our dog taught my ex wife to fetch treats for him. She was a fairly
quick learner, too!
