Officials at Texas A&M University posted early Monday afternoon that
an “active shooter” near the campus has been taken into custody.

The gunman was first reported at 12:29 PM CST and residents were urged
to avoid the area.

KBTX-TV reported that the shooter was firing from a house with
automatic weapons. “Multiple casualties” are involved, but earlier
reports that officers were involved in the shooting have not been
confirmed.

UPDATE: KBTX has confirmed that more than one officer has been shot in
the incident, though College Station, Texas, police say no fatalities
have been confirmed.

UPDATE 2:43 PM EST: KBTX will be live-streaming a press conference on
the shooting, which can be seen below.
