A Canadian Pope would be outstanding but I wonder what Johnny and his ilk would do if one of those darker cardinals from Africa was selected. Oh my, guess who's coming to dinner. |

I really don't see what the problem would be, Don, there have been at least three from Africa - Pope St Victor I (ca186-198), Pope St Miltiades (311-14), and Pope St Gelasius (492-496) And with all i can find out about them nobody seemed to care |

They do come up with some weird **** though. I'd bet that a black Pope would do a lot more race relations than our black president has done. You have to have your parents signature to go on a school field trip but not to get an abortion. |

Oh my, guess who's coming to dinner. ------------------- My wife is Catholic. And she and her friends know it will be another very conservative Pope. Not a progressive as most Catholics in the US and probably Central / South America would like. The voting Cardinals are all ultra conservative. sort of like both our major political parties. At the extreme ends of the scale. |
