Default Taking BP money

My accountant called me and asked me to fill out paperwork to get part of the BP settlement money for the 2010 spill. I said the spill had not affected my business. He told me that "the spill depressed all businesses along the gulf coast and that all businesses were eligible and that this would be a significant amount of money for my business"
Consider, the total civil settlement for lost business is supposed to be about $21 billion. Divide by maybe a million businesses and you get.........

In my opinion, this is nothing more than legal piracy by lawyers (who will get a cut of whatever is awarded).

Would you do it?

If you don't need the money, send it here and I'll put it towards a new tow vehicle.
