Skype is ok. I use it with one of my programmer sources, who lives in India. Sometimes, though, you just "gotta be there." Besides, I like visiting the Left Coast, though the long flights are not something I enjoy. Are all of your decisions made specifically to please you personally? Besides, I like visiting the Left Coast, though the long flights are not something I enjoy. If I had to go, and could afford the time, I'd plan a month or two, take the trailer, and see the country. There is a lot of beautiful country between here and Seattle - going the northern, middle, or southern routes. I've never found the trip, which I've made by car twice now, to be boring or 'blech'. Yeah, Kansas can get dull, so go thru Minnesota and North Dakota and Wyoming instead. I've never met another person who thought this country was 'blech' for the most part. But, each to his own. I'm invited to a meeting in Seattle, all expenses paid, and I should turn it down because I could "skype" there, even though the sponsor wants his employees and consultants there in person? No, I don't like driving long distances and if there is an alternative, I'll take it. |

Salmonbait -- 'Name-calling'...the liberals' last resort. I don't like driving long distances. We visit Florida a few times a year for various reasons, and most of the time we either fly or take the train. The drive isn't bad if we break it up and spend the night in a motel somewhere, but driving straight through is not something we enjoy. I've had trips to Minnesota, the Dakotas, Wyoming and Montana, and there are plenty of beautiful places, but I've never felt the need to drive there to get to them when I can fly there and rent a car. To each his own. |

Salmonbait We spent a week in the Tetons on our Idaho Wyoming trip (Grand Targhee resort) That is 8000 feet, going up to over 10,000 so air is hard to come by ;-) http://gfretwell.com/ftp/Idaho%20Wyo...t%20Targee.jpg http://gfretwell.com/ftp/Idaho%20Wyo...etons%20Wy.jpg That was a good starting place to get to Jackson http://gfretwell.com/ftp/Idaho%20Wyo...etons%20Wy.jpg and the south entrance into Yellowstone that lets you avoid all of those crowds around Old Faithful. We then looped around through Montana and spent a few days at Coeur D'alene. That is another nice place. http://gfretwell.com/ftp/Idaho%20Wyo...ne%20Idaho.jpg We all saw beach volley ball on TV but they play in the mud in Idaho. http://gfretwell.com/ftp/Idaho%20Wyo...0Arco%20ID.jpg Some great shots. Don't know if I'd want to drag the trailer up that first road, but there's probably a campsite down below. Mud volleyball looks like it could be an interesting thing to watch, depending on the players. Did you rent the boat at Coeur D'alene? Where'd you pick up the stunning beauty?
