University police found Alexandra Kogut—an 18-year-old communications major at The College at Brockport—dead in her dorm room on September 29. A medical examiner determined she died as a result of blunt force trauma. Gosh, I wonder how the number of people murdered each year with curling irons compares to the number murdered with guns. Somehow, Bert and Tim think these outliers should be measured as valid concerns since they resulted in a death. It's now something like 2000 deaths by gun since Newtown. One by curling iron. I seriously doubt the CDC (an apolitical org) would classify curling iron deaths as an epidemic, as they have gun deaths. |
