Well, download the demo... For me, it's a great tool to learn basic skills, but it's a pitty you can only race online. If you like racing offline I'll suggest Virtual Skipper 2. Remco |

Well, download the demo... For me, it's a great tool to learn basic skills, but it's a pitty you can only race online. If you like racing offline I'll suggest Virtual Skipper 2. it's OK but the lack of a course editor really lets VSK2 down... just two cans (with an offset de-conflictor can) gets _really_ boring... And only being able to sail in those few locations with that poor selection of boats sucks as well. There is another product called virtual sailor. You can use boats and scenery created by other users. It is let down (in my opinion) by the low resolution of the scenery system... coastlines and inlets etc. are very difficult to set up to actually match reality as the scenery is done with a "bitmap" rather than a vector database. http://www.hangsim.com/vs/ However, I do enjoy this one for virtual cruises -- COMPUTER POWER TO THE PEOPLE! I'm not a real sailor, tho I have sailed. I Researched for several days and it seems to me the best in the world is Virtual Skipper 4, much more advanced that even their own past apps.
