Have you ever stopped and considered that the only way anybody here

I'd say Facebook is better if you want to provide personal info
because you have some degree of control over who sees your posts.
But even there, I'd only make public that information you are sure
cannot be used by others for questionable purposes.

Facebook is a great medium for discussions of all kinds, and you can
include photos, cartoons, posters, whatever, with your post. Usenet
discussions are pretty much kaput.

-----------------------------------------

I used Facebook mainly as a social connection for activities related
to the guitar shop and performance venue. It is a page that I created
tied to my personal Facebook page that I don't post to often. I
still maintain the Re-Tunes! page because it was started under my
account but my friend who now owns and runs the guitar shop is the
primary administrator.

My winter project is finally coming to the last couple of weeks before
completion and having the "grand opening". Last week I ran all new
electrical power and outlets for the stage and lights. The stage is
big .... 24 ft by 12 ft and I ran three individual 20 amp services to
it, so there's plenty of power.

Yesterday and today I primed and painted the wall behind the stage
flat black. Big wall ... almost 40 feet wide by 14 feet high. Looks
good now and provides a great backdrop for bands playing on the stage,
with colored stage lights as a wall wash.

Only things left to do is some more painting, hanging of acoustic
drapes and decorative stuff like pictures and displays. Need to hook
up the PA system, run a 100 ft audio snake to the mixing board and it
should be ready to go. Well, almost. I have to find tables and
chairs again. We had a pile of them but I sold some and gave away
the rest when we closed the old shop, never thinking I'd be involved
with this again.

Looking forward to having people use the new performance venue. We
had a lot of fun at the other one and witnessed some amazing talent.

As an Internet provider trouble shooter (as claimed on your website),
you should know better that your behaviour is against Connecticut
State laws.

Take your embarrasment up with Google, Bing, Zillow, ect. Who, no doubt,
take great pleasure in invading your privacy.

This is from the guys who dug through my town records, ran a background
check, and passed the info among themselves to be used here.. Plus a bit
more we don't discuss here... I am actually learning a lot here lately,
it's been helping me in other aspects of my life. First off, don't trust
anybody who thinks Morning Joe, leans right snerk

It's bad enough to have these idiotic exchanges in the rec.boats
newsgroup and now you want to spread the child's play on someone's
business Facebook page?

I suspect the administrator of that page would quickly delete any
links
to a Google newsgroup thread and probably ban the person who
posted it
before it became infested with this BS. I know I would. In fact, I
did for exactly that reason.

There are some here, Scotty and "Earl" and Herring among them, who
have
nothing to offer *but* that sort of child's play. Poor Earl changes
his
email addy slightly very frequently in order to get through my filters
so I can see his vomitus, but that doesn't work for him. He's a
permanent member of The Bozo Bin. Herring worked his way into the bin
last week. The posters in rec.boats have diminished themselves down
to a
precious few for me.

Were you banned from Eisboch's page? It wouldn't surprise me a bit if
you were.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if Harry has ever visited my Facebook page or the guitar
shop's page. He hasn't posted any comments that I have seen.
If he or anyone else tried to infect either page with links related to,
or continuance of discussions that originated here in rec.boats, the
comments would be deleted and the person posting the comment would be
banned from further posting. So far, I've only done that to two
people.

Didn't know you have or had a FB page. Your buddy, FlaJim, has one
purpose here, and that is to try to stir up people. He does a great job
igniting Scotty, but he's a bozo binner here on my desktop computer.

----------------------------------------

I can't speak for Jim but I suspect that he, (like you and others) has
recognized the deterioration of the newsgroup over the years and posts
here for entertainment value only. Some of his retorts are humorous.

You have indicated that you are still here for a somewhat similar reason
.... to see rec.boats finally dissolve into a pile of dust and blow
away. You stir up as much or more of the dust that he does.

If you remember back many years ago, Jim often made very informative
and useful posts in response to problems people had with boats or boat
engines. He had particular expertise in outdrives and was always spot
on with helpful suggestions in troubleshooting or identifying a solution
to a problem. But, the number of real boating related posts has
diminished to maybe one or two a week now-a-days, so there's really
nothing to contribute anymore.

I know Jim. I also know his newsgroup persona is not the real Jim.
That's all I'll say about that.

I don't recall any informative or useful posts in boat problems that
your FlaJim posted. He's been in my bozo bin for a while, so I only see
an occasional comment of his when one of his snarky remarks is reposted
by someone else. As far as I can tell from that, what he likes to do
most is rev up PsychoScotty and take junior high style potshots at those
who don't share his racist, right-wing political views.

Is the "real Jim" even more of an asshole? (Rhetorical question...no
response needed... )

Why do you have such a hard on for FlaJim?

He has a hard on for anybody left to confront him, seems there are a few
here like that. Only want the group to be about them and their
interests, points of view..

Your eyes must be brown, because you are totally, completely full of
****. You are quite the boy for making up all sorts of reckless charges
for which there is no substantiation. Your recent charge of "blackmail"
was just one example.

I don't agree with Richard on any number of topics, but never once have
I thought he was "delusional" or anything like it. He's as stable a
straight-shooter as anyone would want to encounter.

*You* on the other hand *are* a delusional psychotic. And you are paranoid.

Once again, the best thing your motorbiking daughter can do for herself
is to find a decent, employable, even-tempered guy and get the hell out
of your dysfunctional household.

Sounds like all it is missing is a stripper pole.

Good luck with the new venue.
