In article , says... In article , says... I know that many right wingers won't watch an educational channel like PBS, but to those here that don't mind learning, there's going to be a very good show on called The Constitution U.S.A. I watched an extended preview of it and it's going to be eye opening. My daughter was complaining of the bias at school. My other daughter was complaining about lefty teacher bias at her school. I wouldn't trust PBS doing a rerun of Gunsmoke. Bingo!!! I TOLD everyone the right wingers don't want to know facts, they just want to know what FOX tells them!! What facts did the show provide that we don't already know? |

What facts did the show provide that we don't already know? None that you would get or understand, apparently. But for starters, the Constitution that the right wing holds dearly, was founded in part because the federal government wanted more control and taxation from the states, something the right acts like they don't want. |

It is the best considered compromise from a group of really smart guys, hammered out in an attempt to strike the right balance between federal control and state control, and individual liberties vs law and order. The fact that it still survives more or less intact today is a testament to the wisdom and thought that went into the original effort. Attempts to put a modern day political spin on the constitution are a corruption of the ideals that it is based on. |
