Default Anyone here looking for a job?

Or a new career?

I know of several different opportunities that pay decent money and
seem to have some openings.

1. Marine Air Conditioning and Refrigeration service people (on
topic). My guy is in his early 70s and has more work than he can
handle. The work is difficult and requires a fair degree of skill.
He's had no success at all trying to hire and train assistants. Most
of them have just not been up to the task for one reason or another.
He charges $85/hour including travel time to and fro - all top line
profit since he works for himself and has his shop at home.

2. Long Haul Truck Driver. On our recent road trip back to the
north east, a high percentage of the trucks we passed had help wanted
signs, some willing to hire and train beginners. Admittedly this is
not a job for everyone but experienced drivers can make over $50K/year
and seem to have a lot of options regarding where they work. Much
better than working at McDonalds or Walmart in my opinion.

The truck driver has to feed himself each day, wether he is driving or
watching Oprah.

Do you seriously not understand the difference in dollars, buying
prepared food on the road, or cooking your own at home? When we go
racing, we easily save $50 bucks a day by brown bagging compared to
other teams... It's a lot different working and living on the road and
trying to eat well, than it is stuffing in carbs on vacation or on a
long weekend...

You travel for business, you learn to eat reasonable. You do not go out to
the 3 star eateries.

Please show me what you consider "eating reasonably".... on the road,
with only fast food available? I am not talking about a hotdog at 7-11,
I am talking about eating food that will keep you going...

Traveling for business and driving a long-haul truck on the interstates
doesn't mean you eat at the same places. The truck drivers are pretty
much limited to eating at truck stops, where their rigs can be parked,
fueled, accommodated. Some truck stops offer a wide variety of food and
some have that food at decent prices but even so, eating three hots a
day while driving a big rig isn't inexpensive. If you are driving your
car, you can easily get off the interstate and find the kind of place
you'd prefer to eat that will accommodate you and your car. On the
interstates around here, "Cracker Barrel" restaurants seem very popular
at all three meal times, but you rarely see the big truck rigs in their
parking lots because those lots are not built to handle those sorts of
vehicles. A decent meal at Cracker Barrel runs $10-$12, easily. A
similar meal at a truck stop likely is more expensive.

If you are long haul trucking, you are not cooking on the side of the
road. You grab a meal at the same place where you buy fuel and you get
back on the road.
A parked truck is a quarter of a million dollar asset that is not
generating a penny in revenue but those fixed expenses are still going
out.

Exactly... Bill insinuated that "eating" is "eating".... but it's not.
Eating on the road is huge expensive compared to eating at home..

Why would I get a job?
My girlfriend has three illegitimate kids,(two, mine) she gets
foodstamps (now called EBT, it's less judgmental) a generous
housing allowance, the two boys have a slight mental problem, we get
extra cash for them, free medical, the kids get free breakfast and lunch
at school, and it's all tax free.
We live on 40 grand and we don't need to worry about getting up
in the morning. I even fix a car now and then for some tax free
spending money. America is a great country.

Those imaginary children of yours didn't ask to be brought into this
world. Too bad the conservatrashers are so opposed to family planning
and abortion, eh?
