Default mast -rake part -2

I was told that after you step the mast and gogot the turnbuckels pined in
with the back stay lose and floppy your forestay should be tighten to
6inches of play then go to the aft is this where you? start

It is dependant on the vessel... On a minnow or sabot six inches of play
would allow you to remove the mast from its step.

Also it depends on the rig.. Is it a bendy mast/skiff rig design or a more
traditional masthead rig.
