Default Hey Tim, Greg...Wayne??... any other "friendly" rec.boater...:)

Posted this about a week ago was hoping at least for a comment or two. I
spent about a month learning the types of coding necessary to put all
the different scripts together... It's one reason I have been so quiet
lately..

Anyway, last try... http://www.newenglandtreemasters.com ...

I know a couple links are still dead. I spent the last two weeks
building the "Portfolio Page" and putting in the controls.. The
"Equipment" page took a while too but it has a display script, inside of
another display script. The Flash presentation on the front page is
"stock" but I did add my own objects and actions to in for another
website I am working with, doing that in Macromedia Flash... Most of the
adjustments to the site are border and background colors and making
things line up with the Cascading Style Sheets that are the basic layout
and feel of the site etc... Anyway, the customer really likes the color
scheme but I still have to do a new logo... And ironically, like I said
before the customer speaks English as a second language and hired me to
"communicate" to the customers for them

Hire someone who knows English as a first language, have that person
work on the spelling, grammar, and stylistic errors and inconsistencies,
and then get back to us.

I took a quick look! Way too many exclamation points! Every sentence doesn't need one!

See what I mean? :-)

At the end of the day there are only two people who's opinion matters:
Your client and his customer. From a customer standpoint, is the
site informative and easy to use? I'd give it fairly good grades in
that respect. Does it run well on all platforms, even older and
slower computers? I have my doubts on that one given the heavy use
of flash and scripting. I have a browser add-on called Flash Block
since I dislike Flash's propensity for pushing unsolicited
advertisements on to my screen. That means that I have to manually
enable anything that contains Flash scripting.

I can appreciate the amount of work you have done on this. It's obvious
when you visit the website. The only comment I have ... and it's meant
to be constructive criticism ... it's *way* too busy. I got lost
after following a link or two. Maybe your customer likes it but as a
first time visitor to the website I wouldn't stay long. Too confusing
to navigate.

Maybe a more simple home page with a link listing of services that are
better organized by purpose. Appropriate videos could be viewed from
within the links rather than displaying them all on the home page. I
sorta lost the idea of what the company does.

Thanks. My wife was talking to me last night about putting in a script
that would put static photos in areas where Java Scripting and Flash are
for browsers or phones that don't do flash, or run Java Scripting... I
will let you know when we get that set up and maybe you can check it out
for me. Right now you just get a big green block at the top of the home
page?

You put up a web site that you say is your work and you ask for
critiques. Your spelling, grammar, and style have errors and
inconsistencies. Apparently your client will not notice. All is well.
