I'm not up on current events as posted in here. Did you ever buy that RC airplane? The Apprentice?

If you didn't (or even if you did), here's an article with a build video that you may be interested in:

http://www.modelaviation.com/apprentices

It didn't quite work correctly for me when I went there, so if you'd like, I can send you the article via email. It appeared in a recent Model Aviation magazine.

YES! That's it. It's sitting on my table now, waiting for it's first flight tomorrow. Instructor

pilot is all lined up, winds are supposed to be less than 10mph, and we're meeting at 7:30. I can't

wait.

That was a great article. This model seems expensive at $275, which is what my wife paid for it. But

when I was last flying model airplanes, about 35 years ago, it would cost well north of $1000 to get

a model with these capabilities and a five-channel transmitter.

LOL. Back then, proportional control was exremely expensive and some of it had to be home-built. Forget about SAFE technology. That's why I flew control line as a kid.

I first started flying RC about 15 years ago. A .40 sized trainer with glow engine and radio, along with ground support (flight box, glow battery, fuel, etc) started around $400. I have a giant scale plane with nearly $1k in it (sans radio), and that's cheap for that size. Got one in the box, a 35% CAP232 that when finished, will total upwards of $2k. I've seen $10k models fly. Unreal.

Good luck on your maiden voyage. Let me know how it goes!

I've already crashed it. I was taxiing in the road yesterday and the wind flipped it. Couple little
dings in the foam, but nothing bad. I've run it into the curb twice, keep forgetting the damn thing
doesn't have brakes or reverse gear.
