Looks like the USCG gets some updates http://www.marinelink.com/news/recei...ast366072.aspx Very cool, but where oh where is 'Ma Deuce'? I miss her lovely profile in the bow - doesn't look like there's enough room in the stern. http://d2.static.dvidshub.net/media/...50x300_q75.jpg |

That is what I usually see here on the RIBs. Ft Myers Beach has 3 the last time I looked in different sizes (two 25s and a 33) but they discourage you getting in very close for a better look. They also have a "white one", 110 I think. Yup. I was thinking of the escort we had leaving Seattle Harbor, but it wasn't an M2 in the bow. Looks like an M-60. http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2.../Seattle39.jpg |

Of course, you really might want to get a slightly larger boat to do that... http://militaryfactory.com/ships/img...-boat-aspb.jpg |

The CG 82 footers they had in VN carried five 50s, a 20mm and an 81mm up front. Oh Greg, I absolutely know that. But then again, I've seen 455 Olds Toronado engines and axles parked under the back of Corvairs too! ?;^ ) |

We had 6 of them going on a 311' cutter and the guys said it was rippling their coffee down on the mess deck. I was on deck supervising the show and it was certainly impressive up there. We had several other guys burning 30 06 from M1s so the smell of smokeless powder was definitely in the air. We had cases of surplus WWII ammo that was out of date so it was "shoot it or throw it over the side". Sounds like fun. And yes, M2's will shake a tank! |

Well, the STAB was a mere 24 foot'r and had some interesting things mounted fore, and aft... http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66213 http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66213 |
