I just purchased a set of used mooring whips for my ODay 28. I don't
have any instructions, and am unsure as to how to tie tie up to them. How are the whip lines afixed around the rigging, i.e., does the bow line go in front of the forestay and the stern line aft of the backstay? |

I have mooring wips for my D&M 22 in Key Largo, Fl. I have them mounted on
the dock at the bow and stern. They are at about a 45-degree angle. The 3/8 braid lines are tied to the bow cleat and inside stern cleat. When the lines are pulled tight the whips have about a two foot bow in the middle. We've only had 60 mph winds once in the past few years and they seem to hold well. Capt NJ Marinaro |
