Why do you suppose that is?

A culturally less violent and more compliant society.
If you ask your average German whether it was OK to attack an officer
and try to take his weapon he would simply be aghast. They would
expect to be killed.

Oh. So it has nothing to do with the easy availability of guns.

German police have guns, Toad.

Are you implying that Brown was killed because of the easy
availability of guns? To cops? Or to Brown? You're making little sense
here, Toad.
--

Less availability of guns in modern western societies seems to result in
a less violent society, eh?

It's the behavior of the folks behind the gun that's the problem,
Toad. Look at Switzerland, they have a lot of guns, but the behavior
of the gun owners is much better. Look at the guys here on rec.boats.
Lots of them own guns, some, like yourself, own a whole arsenal of
guns. How many folks have you shot with them? None? Well, why the hell
not? Lots of guns were available to you, but you didn't go out and
shoot anyone.

Well, it's still the guns fault, just like the story below where violent
school busses kill far more kids during school hours than guns..

https://www.facebook.com/19074743427...type=1&theater

man, get with the program, get rid of all school busses, and cars too!!!

Support Moms Against Cars! lol!

In fact, I don't think anyone here has shot anyone. Wonder why not?

apology, reports KSDK.

In a statement released Sunday evening, the St. Louis Police Officers
Association condemned the display, calling it “tasteless, offensive and
inflammatory.”

Prior to player introductions before Sunday’s game, five players —
Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens, and Kenny Britt
— came out onto the field first with their hands in the air prior to
being joined by their teammates.

Responding to the display, the statement reads, “The St. Louis Police
Officers Association is profoundly disappointed with the members of the
St. Louis Rams football team who chose to ignore the mountains of
evidence released from the St. Louis County Grand Jury this week and
engage in a display that police officers around the nation found
tasteless, offensive and inflammatory.”

What is tasteless, offensive and inflammatory is the number of
incidents
in which police beat up, shoot, and kill unarmed civilians.

Well, I think you should probably figure that a high percentage of
those unarmed citizens are guilty of breaking some law, then when the
police try to arrest them the fight. You can be sure the police kill in
self defense a very low percentage of those that fight, and then of that
low percentage a tiny percentage might have been killed and it was
wrong. If you don't fight a policeman, your odds of being killed are
very, very, very, very tiny. That's a big clue.

The bigger problem, 13% of the population murder as many as the other
87%. That 13% is the black population, if you could fix that...

Interesting that in other modern nations like England, Germany, Japan,
et cetera, the police there hardly ever kill anyone.

I wonder if the "population" has more respect for the authority of
the police in those countries.

Perhaps the police in those countries are not so "shoot 'em" happy.

Maybe it is Napoleonic Law. Guilty until proven innocent. Go to jail is
pretty much guaranteed for screwing up. So less people in jail, as they
know they are gone if caught.

We have agreement, it is a vicious circle.
But most of the population want the police around, taking care of the
bad guys.

Perhaps there is no need for them to be as concerned during a traffic
stop. Perhaps no one has ever shot at them. Perhaps a drive-by
shooting is something that they have only heard about. Perhaps the
residents of those countries don't survive on handouts and subsidies
that are rewarded by breeding more future lazy scumbags that never had a
chance at a real education because Mom was high and Dad was in prison.
Who are you kidding?

They don't have the inner city problems we have to deal with.

Johnny Herring the racist has a new "code phrase": inner city
problems.

Charles Barkley agrees with John.
I suppose Sir Charles is a racist too.

As far as I know, there's no law against ignorant assholes agreeing with
each other.

You and Donny come immediately to mind.

An excellent point.
