They are simply less violent. There were more stabbing murders in LA last year than the total number of murders in Canada all causes. Maybe it does have to do with our ethnic make up ... but we can't say that. What's the pop. of LA? What's the pop, of Canada? What's the pop. density of both? Your comparisons don't mean squat without some real data. LA: Population: 3.884 million (2013) Canada: Population:35.344,962 million LA stabbing murders: 59 (last twelve months) http://homicide.latimes.com/cause/stabbing Canada homicides: 1.56/100,000 = 551.38 LA homicides (last twelve months) 520 So, it looks like Greg meant to say, "...almost as many homicides just in LA last year than in *all* of Canada." Since a city is being compared to a country, the population density is immaterial. So...now the statement means 'squat'. Based on the above statistics, I would have to agree that the population of Canada is much less violent than the population of LA, if measured only by homicides. Now, if violence is measured by wife beatings and boat curb bashings, it might be a different story. -- "The modern definition of 'racist' is someone who's winning an argument with a liberal." ....Peter Brimelow (Author) (Thanks, Luddite!) |

BTW ... please cite where I have accused you of being a racist? You may be. Or maybe your're not. I don't know and have never made any accusations. You're hung up on the "ingrained" thing. You don't think that the way people think, talk or express themselves isn't due to some ingrained thought process, learning experience or conditioning? |
