Your numbers don't add up. Ignoring slammed, we have:

Don nipping at John's and Scot's heels.
Scot and Justan nipping at yours.
Luddite throwing out an occasional jab at John.
You and John being equally, but very mildly, snarky to each other.
Wayne calling you out on the obvious.
Maybe one or two other posters who rarely post anything, but when they do it's a snide comment.

OK, maybe it is around six. But since you claim that you don't read every post, skipping over many, your data set and research is incomplete and flawed. :-)

One thing is for sure... an unintentional result is the proof that you are one of the greatest drivers of the animosity that exists in this NG. During your "experiment", the overall tone of the posts greatly improved. And you proved that you can't wipe out 10 years of bad behavior with one week of relatively good behavior.
